"Operación Madera" is a gaming project requested by CONAFOR (National Forestry Commission), focused on explaining to kids 6 to 12 years old, how the wood industry operates in Mexico.
It was crucial for the project that the 3D graphic elements resemble as much as possible to the real ones.
In gaming, the making of the integrated 3D elements is crucial. Cabins, water tanks, sawmills, etc. were portrayed realistically yet stylized. This filled the game with added educative value. The objects, the constructions and the transport were created based on the real ones in this agricultural industry.
The game portrayed the relation between Work-Earnings-Costs which the kids had to understand in order to win.
Gaming was based on rewards and achievements to keep the player captive and at the same time educate them.
Great care was put in the graphics and to make the structure of the game intuitive for the kids.
